Project Overview

Rally designed and engineered an unloading, storage, and injection facility for four (4) diesel chemical additives. It included truck and rail unloading facilities with the specification, procurement, and installation of new tanks, pumps, and related infrastructure.

Additive Storage

New additive storage consists of three (3) double-walled tanks (2 x 120,000 L and 1 x 200,000 L), plus a stacked tote system. Additives are injected into an existing 12” diesel line adjacent to the facility via four (4) new injection pumps, backed up by three (3) installed spare pumps.
The two 120,000 L tanks are equipped with internal heating coils for improved blending efficiency during cold weather. A compact plate & shell steam heat exchanger and a skid-mounted pump circulate the glycol heating medium.

Facility Building

A new 16 ft x 36 ft facility building houses an operator’s desk and PPE storage, integral safety shower, electrical and instrumentation panels, and other equipment. It is also equipped with a fire water deluge header and associated valving, instrumentation, and controls.
Other new infrastructure includes a 230 ft long, 3-level pipe rack, stairways and walkways to tank platforms and rail unloading access points, and an underground pipe vault road crossing.
Cable trays were routed throughout the facilities, providing both power and communication cables to/from equipment and instruments.
